T:A Server Settings Discussions

The CYGNUS server is set up with basic physics.
-no vehicles available
-friendly fire on
-Gen damage off
-base upgrades off
-only call in available is inventory station (2000 pts.)
-all classes available
-only rifle available for Sentinel is the phase rifle
-jackal banned for infiltrator

May be a little late to discuss this with the 5x5 starting tomorrow, but the game changes made via the latest patch makes them something we should consider.
Four things perhaps we should discuss for the 5x5 tourney:
1)Several of you have stated you have no problem with the newly nerfed fractals, however, my experience as HoF has been that a brute skiing over the flag stand and dropping two fractals still clears the flag of forcefields, mines and the HoF. Do we want to permit them in the 5x5?
2)Whiteouts have been nerfed so that they don't completely blind players in range; do we still want them banned?
3)Do want to permit the phase rifle for the sentinels? If not, there is no reason not to ban the sentinel class entirely.
4)Do we want friendly fire on ... since we have had no practice for timing between cappers and those clearing the flag?

I believe fractals are current permitted in the 5v5 as I feel the tradeoff of losing a player just to fractal spam the enemy flag might weaken your overall position. As for snipers, I'm not sure which way it'll lean yet. It could be too easy for cappers to get away without snipers. It could also be too easy for a sniper to rule the battlefield with the enemy team torn about sacrificing a position for sniper interference. We'll see. And friendly fire helps nerf fractals more Cappers could get hit

So Taka, to be clear, are you saying yes to fractals, and yes to friendly fire, and you have made no decision yet re: sniper weapons? No decision re: sniper weapons means the class will be banned for the 5x5 tourney, right?
What about whiteouts, ban or no ban?

I suppose we can bann the class...doesn't have much use beyond sniping I suppose. Could be good for flag defense with that accurized shotgun perhaps... Let's ban the class for now unless people seem to want it for other than sniping.

Yes to fractals, yes to friendly fire, I need to think about whiteouts for a bit, no to snipers.

The CYGNUS T:A server is now set up according to the 5v5 League rules including maps (maps not allowed for 5v5 match play are excluded from the map rotation).

How many maps can you add to a server, and what maps are setup on the OSL server?

Your only allowed 8 maps in rotation.

The current rotation on the OSL Server is:

Crossfire
Arx Novena
Drydock
Katabatic
Raindance
Stonehenge
Sunstar
Dangerous Crossing

Current rotation still includes the designated 5v5 League Match maps:

Arx Novena
Crossfire
Bella Omega - NS
Katabatic
Canyon Crusade Revival
Sunstar
Blueshift
Stonehenge

Please note:
-Fractals are no longer banned
-Brute Devastator is no longer banned
-Basic Sniper Rifle no longer banned
-Turrets now destroyable
-Blackout Grenades (Whiteouts) no longer banned

Without the 5v5 Matches this month I have set up the CYGNUS server with the new Blitz maps (plus Katabatic). Only the four maps are in the rotation.
